Xplane's Subprime Explaination

This three and a half minute movie by Xplane takes viewers through the process starting in 2000 and ending in current day financial crisis, detailing the role that home buyers, mortgage lenders, banks, financial institutions and ultimately asset backed securities played. The production was created by XPLANE’s renowned information design team using Cintiq technology by Wacom to allow for live and still animation, and voiceover.

Show/World Mapping Tool

This cool Flash-enabled tool allows you to selct a subject from the top menu and watch the countries on the map change their size. Instead of land mass, the size of each country will represent the data for that subject --both its share of the total and absolute value.
